Mamas and Papas

Yesterday I talked Dwayne into taking  me to a babies and kids shop called Minimee. The reason I wanted to go was because they sell Emmaljunga prams (hand made in Sweden) and I wanted to have a first hand look. They are fantastically expensive at $2000+ so I wanted to see if they are really worth the price. They certainly look nice and have all sorts of clever solutions built in.

So off we went to Crows Nest to look at prams. The people in the shop were very friendly and helpful and Chris the pram expert was happy to help us compare different models and makes and demonstrate how they fold and lock and swivel and convert.

We were really only there to have a look and get an idea of what we might want to buy later on, because I don't feel comfortable buying any baby stuff just yet. But somehow there is right now a brand new Mamas and Papas Mylo baby pram downstairs in our car...

Chris the pram expert showed us a Mamas and Papas stroller on sale. They are nearly as expensive as the Emmaljunga, but this one was on half price offer. Dwayne was quite taken with all the nifty functions, and it came complete with a bassinet for when the baby is little and was nice and high for tall people like us. Not sure how it all went down, but we ended up buying it. The one on sale only came in black which is perhaps not the colour I would have chosen (bright green would have been nice), but other than that it really seems to have everything one might want in a pram. Well, we'll see, I never had one and really have no idea what to look for.

Dwayne seems completely relaxed about this purchase, whilst I have slight anxiety. I usually spend forever doing my online research and comparing and reading up and changing my mind a thousand times before I make a decision. Dwayne on the other hand is more trigger-happy with the credit card. If it is fancy and expensive and on half price sale, he'll happily buy it.

I'm not saying it's not the right pram - it probably is. It just all happened so quickly.

I have refused to let Dwayne assemble it yet though. It will have to sit in its box for another couple of months until I feel it's time to start baby shopping. THEN he can get it out and start playing with all it's fancy functions.

  1. Ser väldigt osvensk ut. Inget för snöiga vagnpromenader!

Blir nog bra det där, snö är inte ert problem. Har den inbyggd air con?
